We are currently looking for the next person to oversee our student ministry. This person will equip students to find life and faith in Christ. The primary values of our church, which should then be key focal points in this ministry, are those of connecting with others, growing in our own relationship with Christ and encouraging others to do the same, and participating in what God is doing in our lives and in the world around us.
Our current ministry model would assume that there would be programming provided for students on Sunday Mornings during our Sunday School time, on Wednesday nights for mid-week opportunities and that other things will be scheduled to fill the needs of the ministry (social events, small groups, retreats, camps, missions trips, etc...).
The right candidate will have the ability to do these things within a team structure, recruiting and developing volunteers to help partner in this ministry, coming alongside parents and equipping them as appropriate, and connecting with students relationally as well.
We'd love to have someone join our staff who has previous experience in working with students and feels called specifically to work with that age group, has a comfort in teaching God's word to students of various levels of faith background and can come alongside parents at various levels of intentionality in their kids spiritual development.
With dedicated youth space in our building, a gym in our facility, and a pull from a variety of local suburbs, we would hope to see our student ministry serve the families of our church well while also reaching out to youth in the area who may not have regular connection with a church body through meaningful experiences with God, relationships with each other, and opportunity to participate in God's work in our local context as well as through missions work.
